Damage Protection Program

What is the Damage Protection Program?

Accidental damage from insureds does happen. Traditionally, this was managed via a security deposit or short-term rental damage insurance purchased by the policyholder. Both are cumbersome and often have big limitations in protection. As a Sinistar client/host, you are now automatically enrolled in our Damage Protection Program, which covers the cost of accidental property damage from the insured up to CA$2,000. What does this mean for a claims adjuster?

The Damage Protection Program ensures a smooth and worry-free stay for your policyholders. The program fee is now automatically included in the accommodation costs, reflected on your invoices.

What does this mean for a host?

The Damage Protection Program ensures your rental property is protected at all times, securing your earnings with coverage against unexpected damages. To submit a damage notice, you can simply submit a damage notice using this link online within 14 days of the policyholder’s departure.

How are the fees calculated?

For bookings up to 10 nights in length, a Minimum Fee CA$34.00 plus tax is charged. For bookings longer than 10 nights, the applicable amount of nightly fees CA$3.40/night plus tax is charged.
