What are Sinistar’s fees?

Sinistar charges a service fee on confirmed bookings. The service fee varies depending on length of the stay, quality of the accommodation, and other risk assessment criteria. Creating a listing is free, and you only pay when you earn. The fee is deducted from your rental payments before taxes and covers platform operations, 24/7 customer support, secure payment processing, and listing management tools.

How does payment work?

Payments are sent via direct deposit to your bank account. You'll receive payment 10–14 business days after check-in for short stays (under 30 days), or monthly for longer stays.

With Sinistar, you set the price of your accommodation for each rental. To make sure your pricing is sustainable, consider your expenses, the risks involved, the profit you want to earn, etc. It also helps to compare similar properties in your area so your rate stays competitive.

Do I have to insure my accommodation?

As a Sinistar host, you're automatically enrolled in our Damage Protection Program. This program covers accidental property damage caused by guests up to CA$2,000 per stay, so you can host with confidence knowing your property is protected.

What happens after I sign up to be a Sinistar host?

Your account is typically activated immediately after you complete registration, so you can start creating your listing right away. Once you submit your listing, our team reviews it to ensure it meets our quality standards. This review process typically takes up to 2 business days, and you’ll receive an email notification as soon as it’s complete.
