MONTREAL, November 2, 2026 – Sinistar has ranked 14th in the Companies-to-Watch category of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 50 program in Canada. The Montreal-based company is dedicating this recognition to the claims adjusters and claims teams in Quebec who helped shape its solution, now used in Canada, the United States and France.
Since its founding in 2017, Sinistar has helped relocate some 15,000 families. Its platform now has more than 140,000 homes listed across North America and Europe. Behind that growth are years of work with the Quebec professionals who were its very first users.
“In the early days, we were talking to adjusters literally every day. Some of them were incredibly generous with their time. They tested the product, called us and explained how they wanted it to work. Without them, Sinistar would never have become what it is today,” says Alexis Vertefeuille, Founder and CEO.
Those conversations focused on very concrete needs: extending a stay when repairs run behind schedule, simplifying billing, or making it easier to follow a claim file. The team would make changes, then go back to the adjusters for their feedback.
Over the years, that close relationship produced a solution built around the day-to-day reality of claims teams and the needs of displaced policyholders. Industry managers and executives also played a key role by giving a young Quebec company the chance to prove itself.
“Some of Sinistar’s features come straight from their suggestions. We built this know-how together. Today, when insurers abroad choose our solution, they’re also choosing that Quebec expertise,” adds Alexis Vertefeuille.
Sinistar’s solution is developed entirely in Quebec, and the company has about 50 employees. The United States has become its main market, while its presence in France, launched in 2024, is growing quickly.
To support its U.S. growth, Sinistar has also welcomed Peter Piotrowski as Strategic Advisor. A former Chief Claims Executive at Hippo and Vault, he brings more than 35 years of experience in the insurance industry.
Sinistar expects to relocate about 8,000 families in 2026. For its founder, that growth is what gives meaning to everything the team has built since the beginning.
“We’re proud of how far the company has come. But behind every claim, there’s a family that has just been through a disaster and needs a place to find a bit of normalcy. The adjusters who helped us build Sinistar understand that reality better than anyone. We wanted to share this recognition with them and say thank you,” concludes Alexis Vertefeuille.
